Interview Tips: The Three C’s- Cool, Calm, Confident

Appearance isn’t everything and actions
speak louder than words. What you do can mean as much as what you
say during an interview. Once a job has been found, and an interview
has been set up, it is important to go in and make the right
impression. To do this, you must act and dress the part.
Do lots of preparation beforehand.
Research the company and the industry. Look at websites and news
sources to find out about the company's products, services,
ownership, competitors and its reputation. If you know anyone with a
contact in the company or industry, phone them up and talk to them.
The more information you can give them, the more they realize you
want to work for them.
Give yourself a practice interview.
Think about questions you would ask someone if the roles were
reversed. Have a few good phrases and ideas ready. Try and be calm
when you answer, it is about getting to know you and your
personality.
On the day of your interview, remember, confidence is key. Get
plenty of rest; you will only do as well as you feel. Below are a few tips to
prepare you for your interview:
Follow up afterwards. If you don’t get the job, contact the interviewer to ask if they can give you feedback on the interview. It will show you care, and help with your next interview.
