What is WiFi?

Picture
WiFi is a way for devices like phones, tablets, and computers to connect to the internet without using wires. It works through a special signal sent out by a device called a router. When your phone or computer connects to this signal, you can go online to browse websites, check emails, or watch videos. Think of WiFi as a wireless bridge that helps you access the internet from almost anywhere in your home or in public places like cafes or libraries. It’s simple, convenient, and keeps you connected!

Connecting a Phone or Tablet to WiFi

Steps to Connect:
1. Open Settings:
  • On your Android phone or Kindle Tablet, find the Settings app (it looks like a gear) and tap it.
2. Select WiFi:
  • In the Settings menu, tap WiFi or Wireless &  Networks.
3. Turn On WiFi:
  • If WiFi is off, tap the switch or toggle to turn it on.
4. Choose a Network:
  • A list of available networks will appear. Tap the name of the WiFi network you want to connect to.
5. Enter the Password:
  • If the network is password-protected, a box will pop up. Type in the password, then tap Connect.
6. Confirm Connection:
  • Once connected, you’ll see a checkmark or the word “Connected” next to the network name.
